Your school board has the power to influence your community and quality of life more than any other governing entity on both a state and national level.

According to the National School Boards Association, “in local school board elections, voter turnout has been discouragingly low—often just 5 percent or 10 percent.” Not only is there low participation in voters, but potential candidates as well, causing concern over the prevalence of uncontested incumbents.
